Guangzhou China June 9, 2011 - This year, Bayer Crop will start large-scale herbicide Sakura trials in Australia. In order to obtain the full confirmation, the large-scale herbicide Sakura trials are required to standardize farm equipments and the testing sites are over 200, in Australia. Some areas of testing grounds are over 60 to 80ha.

Herbicide Sakura's ingredient is pyroxasulfone which is developed by Kumiai Chemical. Before germination, it can control ryegrass. In small area tests, this product shows powerful anti-weed ability. The product is supposed to be launched into market this year. However, it is requested to supply more large-scale trial results, so the plan is delayed until next year.

Meanwhile, Bayer's herbicide Ignite has been approved to increase dosage and usage. when this product is applied to the LibertyLink series soybean, the ingredient, glufosinate, can be increased to 65 ounce/acre. Moveover, if missing the best use of time before germination, farmer can use the max dosage 36 ounces to remedy.

Ignite can be used for all the LibertyLink series, including corns, cotton and canola. For non-LibertyLink series crops, farmers can use this product before seeding. It can control broad leaved weeds, including weeds with resistance of glyphosate and other herbicides.
